The establishment of a Regional Training Center on Migration Management in Azerbaijan will contribute to expanding cooperation between the countries of the region
Baku - On 4 December 2020, representatives of IOM Azerbaijan and the State Migration Service held an online meeting within the project "Supporting the establishment of a Regional Training center on Migration Management in Azerbaijan" to discuss the project progress.
Chief of the State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov said that this project will make an important contribution to the further development of cooperation between the State Migration Service, IOM Azerbaijan and other state Migration agencies from the region and beyond. He said the project would be an effective platform for strengthening education and training opportunities in the field of migration within and outside the region, and praised the IOM's support in establishing a Regional Training Center for Migration in Azerbaijan. He also stressed the importance of speeding up the process of establishment of RTCM by joining efforts from both sides.
Chief of Mission for IOM Azerbaijan Vladimir Gjorgjiev noted that the project will make an important and further contribution to the development of relations between the two organizations and the expansion of cooperation between the countries of the region in the field of migration.
The sides exchanged views on the project implementation details and other issues of mutual interest related to migration.
