IOM Azerbaijan and State Employment Agency explore ways for collaboration
Baku - On 5 May 2021, representatives of IOM Azerbaijan had a meeting at the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
Mustafa Abbasbayli, Chairman of the State Employment Agency informed the guests about the Agency's activities and ongoing projects. Noting that the agency has signed a number of innovations, the chairman said that digitalization has been identified as a priority.
Vladimir Georgiev, Chief of IOM Azerbaijan said that IOM is an intergovernmental organization that provides services and advice to government and migrants, including IDPs, refugees, and migrant workers, adding that projects in various fields have been successfully implemented in Azerbaijan.
Vladimir Gjorgjiev noted that the Kahriz Rehabilitation Project and the AVRR (Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Assistance) program, which assists Azerbaijani citizens returning from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, are being implemented in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting prospects for cooperation between the two organizations within the two projects, opportunities for self-employment for Azerbaijani citizens returning to the country, opportunities for former IDPs to be involved in active employment activities under the Kahriz Rehabilitation Project were discussed.
