The joint points of action were discussed in a meeting with Legal Aid and Training Centre of Azerbaijani Bar Association
Baku - On 9 April 2021, IOM Counter-Trafficking (CT) Team held a meeting with the Head of Legal Aid and Training Centre of Azerbaijani (LATC) Bar Association, Mr. Shahmar Mammadov.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the addendum phase of the CT Project funded by USAID, in particular the activities related to the protection of victims of trafficking and forced labour and upholding human rights-based approach through its implementation. Emphasizing the essential role of availability of and access to professional legal aid in combatting trafficking, CT Coordinator Ms. Apreda highlighted the importance of taking joint efforts with LATCT while implementing related Programmed activities.
The meeting was held in a close cooperation atmosphere and resulted in clarification and agreement on certain matters related to upcoming activities and opened a direct communication channel for follow-up.
