A tree planting event was held to mark International Migrants Day
Today is International Migrants Day! In the spirit of COP29, IOM Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan planted more than 800 trees to raise awareness on the impact of Climate change and Human Mobility. Further the contributions made by migrants to build climate resilience in both their host and home communities. A total of 100 volunteers, including migrants and representatives attended the event led by the Head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, and the Chief of IOM Azerbaijan Troy Dooley,
Congratulations to Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan in raising awareness and enhance public attention to migration, environment and climate change as well as to provide additional contributions to green and environmental initiatives.
