IOM Azerbaijan Hosts Fifth Online Steering Committee Meeting of the project titled “Strengthening Readmission Management in Azerbaijan”
Baku - The “Strengthening Readmission Management in Azerbaijan” Project entered its most cardinal phase by the presentation of the Blueprint Document for the Model Readmission Case Management System (RCMS) customization. The document reflecting the proposed RCMS between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union member states based on the IOM Model RCMS platform was the central topic of discussions at the fifth Project Steering Committee meeting that has taken place on 26 October 2021. The document encompasses the design framework, return request workflow functions, non-workflow functions customization, and non-functional requirements of the RCMS to be deployed in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the IOM Technical team also set out infrastructure and hardware requirements necessary to support the deployment of the RCMS in Azerbaijan and described how the customization will happen in practice.
The impending step in the Project implementation is the approval of the Blueprint Document by the Azerbaijani Project partners, i.e. the State Migration Service and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and procurement of the necessary hardware.
The meeting was closed with expressions of satisfaction by the Project partners with the work performed so far and agreement to convene by the end of January 2022 for the sixth Steering Committee meeting.
“Strengthening Readmission Management in Azerbaijan” Project implemented since May 2020 is aimed at introduction and operationalization in Azerbaijan of the customized electronic Model RCMS developed by IOM and funded by the European Union via the EURCAP Facility. The Model RCMS builds on lessons learned and good practices from stand-alone RCMSs previously developed and deployed by IOM, fostering time and resource efficiency. Customized in accordance with the needs and requirements of Azerbaijan it will allow speedy online communication between the relevant stakeholders and make a substantial contribution to the time- and cost-efficient implementation of the existing Readmission Agreement between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
