IOM Azerbaijan organized a tree planting campaign
Baku - On 16 November 2019, a tree planting campaign was held in joint efforts by the representatives and staff of IOM Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan. Vladimir Gjorgjiev, IOM Azerbaijan Chief of Mission and Vusal Huseynov, the head of the State Migration Service in their speech said that the aim of this campaign is to raise awareness and enhance public attention to migration, environment and climate change issues as well to provide additional contribution to the Government of Republic of Azerbaijan efforts in green and environmental initiatives.
Participants of the campaign planted 220 olive trees in the area near the Velayel Park in Sabail district of Baku. The International Organization for Migration is planning to hold such kind of events regularly.
