Baku - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) continues its engagement with vulnerable communities to support income-generating initiatives in target areas.

Next round of small business training took place in Guba and Masalli in February, 2019 within the Community Resilience to Vulnerabilities (CRV) Activity funded by USAID/Azerbaijan and implemented by IOM.

Around eighty members of local communities representing different vulnerable communities in Guba-Gusar-Khachmazand Masalli-Lankaran-Astara regions participated in the training.

At the end of training, after productive discussions held and counselling provided by the professional trainer, the participants submitted their plans on micro business activities. 16 (25%) plans, out of 65 submitted ones, were initiated by female beneficiaries, who were interested and keen to establish their own businesses.

The submitted plans represent different business areas ranging from livestock (cattle/sheep-breeding), bee-keeping and small-scale production (like, making furniture) to service sectors (barber shop, tailoring etc.).

After evaluation the selected successful business plans will be awarded financial support by IOM.
