Representatives of IOM Mission to Azerbaijan met with the head of the Mingachevir city executive power
Baku - On 14 February 2020, a delegation led by Vladimir Gjorgjiev, the Chief of IOM Mission to Azerbaijan met with the head of the Mingachevir city executive power Ilham Ismayilov. During the introductory meeting, IOM representatives delivered the information on the current IOM project “Integrated Rural Development for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Communities in Azerbaijan through Revitalization of the Kahriz Water Supply System” funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and a role of the Mingechevir Office of IOM Azerbaijan in the implementation of this project.
The four-year project implemented by IOM Azerbaijan aims to provide safe and consistent water supplies for over 8,000 families in eight districts through the renovation of 40 kahrizes – a traditional, sustainable water supply system.
