Baku - The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN migration agency, has organized a four-week intensive online business and financial literacy training for youth, which lasted from June 17 to July 15, within the framework of the USAID-funded ‘Public Action for Resilience (PAR) Activity’ project. The overall goal of this training was to contribute to the personal and professional development of young through online activities in the quarantine regime due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 21 young people, out of them 9 women, from 9 regions Balakan, Shirvan, Agdash, Ganja, Lankaran, Saatli, Shamkir, Siyazan, Astara and Samukh, participated in the four-week online training. The training organized in close cooperation with the Azerbaijan Risk Professionals Association (ARPA), provided young people with basic theoretical and practical knowledge of economics, finance and management accounting, including the basics of business management, as well as business language and financial reporting skills. The participants of the training were mainly young people, who have affiliation with Youth Houses, Youth Centers, and Career Development Centers working with young people in the regions. At the end of the training, 16 young people who completed the training were awarded certificates.
