Baku - IOM Azerbaijan continues to support Youth Houses within the ‘Public Action for Resilience (PAR) Activity’ funded by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

In June 2019, as a part of 'Public Action Resilience' Project Activity IOM "IT Room" and "Dance Room" were established under Balaken Youth House. IT Room was overhauled thoroughly and equipped with a set of IT equipment (PCs, smart board, projector etc.) designed for learning process of up to fifteen students; in turn, Dancing Room was established with necessary accessories as big glasses, handrails etc.

During September-December 2019 period, in total 154 people (93 female, 61 male) benefitted from the services delivered by these two rooms. 114 (74% of) beneficiaries were young people from 15-35 age range.

With this total number of people benefitted from Dancing Room and IT Room of Balaken Youth House since their handover, during July-December 2019 period, has reached 398 (244 female, 154 male).

The aim of PAR activity implemented by IOM Azerbaijan in close cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan since September 2018 is to strengthen local resilience to different types of existing socio-economic challenges.
