The IOM Azerbaijan COM meets the Chief of State Migration Service
Baku - On 14 January 2022, Vladimir Gjorgjiev, the IOM Azerbaijan Chief of Mission cordially met with the Chief of State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov.
The meeting focused on the existing fruitful cooperation between the two organizations in the field of migration and the prospects of joint projects.
Vusal Huseynov said that work has begun to take appropriate measures for the active participation of Azerbaijan as a "champion country" at the International Migration Review Forum to be held in New York this year. He also stressed that efforts will be intensified to strengthen cooperation with the UN Migration Network in sharing Azerbaijan's best practices in various aspects of migration, as well as to promote the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration at various levels.
Expressing gratitude to the Head of the Service for the cordial meeting, Vladimir Gjorgjiev, Chief of IOM Azerbaijan Mission, praised the work done to further develop bilateral cooperation and expressed confidence that it will make an important contribution to expanding relations in the field of migration among the region countries.
During the meeting steps related to joint activities within the Regional Training Center for Migration in Azerbaijan, as well as other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
