IOM Azerbaijan organized workshop on preventing violent extremism and radicalization
Baku - On 14 November 2019, the United Nations Migration Agency - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan organized in Zagatala one-day workshop for SCRA colleagues and community leaders dedicated to preventing violent extremism and radicalization in target areas. This interactive and informative workshop seeks to raise awareness of radicalisation as a societal phenomenon and explore some of the vulnerabilities that make individuals susceptible to extremist recruitment. The training is facilitated by Mr. Ghaffar Hussain, a community resilience manager from the UK overseeing the implementation of the prevent strategy.
This workshop was held within the ‘Public Action for Resilience (PAR)’ Activity implemented by IOM Azerbaijan in close cooperation with the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCRA), funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
