Baku - Between June 2021 and January 2022 IOM Azerbaijan was implementing European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) funded project on providing humanitarian assistance to conflict-afflicted populations. IOM Azerbaijan contributed to addressing the crucial humanitarian needs and building resilience of vulnerable populations residing in conflict-affected districts in Azerbaijan through the provision of multi-purpose cash assistance for a total of 1,500 vulnerable, temporarily displaced households. The most affected and vulnerable 330 out of 1500 households got the second tranche of cash assistance. The target areas of the intervention included, but were not limited to, conflict-affected individuals in Aghdam, Aghjabedi, Barda, Tartar, and other conflict-affected regions. The project was implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs. The project team based in Guzanli/Aghdam office provided by the local authority as an in-kind contribution, conducted interviews with potential beneficiaries using IOM developed vulnerability assessment form.
