IOM Azerbaijan Supports Small Business Start-Ups of Youth in Regions
Baku - The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN migration agency, continuing efforts in supporting selected micro-business initiatives within the framework of the USAID \Azerbaijan funded Public Action for Resilience (PAR) Activity. One of the objectives of the PAR activity is to support the vulnerable youth population in project target areas fostering their access to financial sources and participation in the labour market. In this regard, photographers – Gunay Pashayeva from Ganja, Elchin Bodurov from Balaken, and Ilqar Amirkhanov from Khachmaz have recently been provided with the brand-new equipment to start their photography and design businesses. Taken, softening of the COVID-19 rectifications, recent assistance provided creates new opportunities for these young entrepreneurs to expand their activities and provide services for the local population in the above-mentioned regions of Azerbaijan.
In the framework of the PAR project, more than 40 young people from various parts of Azerbaijan have been assisted to start their own businesses. USAID-funded PAR activity envisages income-generating activities of the vulnerable population with a special focus on youth and women aim economically to empower them and increase their resilience and community cohesion.
