The representatives of IOM Mission to Azerbaijan visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Baku - On 24 December 2019, Mr. Vladimir Gjorgjiev, the Chief of IOM Mission to Azerbaijan met with Mr. Seyfulla Azimov, the National Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Deputy Minister of Internal affairs, the police major-general.
Mr. Azimov provided information on awareness raising on human trafficking among population, direct assistance to victims of human trafficking, protection of human rights of forced migrants, etc. He stressed his satisfaction on successful and fruitful cooperation and partnership between IOM and MIA.
Mr. Vladimir Gjorgjiev thanked Mr. Azimov for his cordial welcoming and congratulated him with new position. He his turn expressed his satisfaction on fruitful cooperation that IOM and MIA and provided information on the ongoing projects, in particular C-TIP project of IOM Azerbaijan. Mr. Gjorgjiev also said that IOM is ready to support the government in the areas where relevant once the National Action Plan on trafficking of human beings is adopted.
The parties noted that they are interested in further mutual cooperation on the topics discussed during the meeting.
